You will first be asked to fill out a short questionnaire. We know that answering a bunch of questions can be aggravating or even make some people feel uncomfortable. It’s important to us to make sure our kittens are going to good homes and will be properly cared for. It also helps us ensure that the kitten you choose is a good fit for your home. For example a shy kitten would not adjust well to a home with small children so we’d want to make sure to help you choose more confident kitten that isn’t put off by the noise of a busy household. We have a short list of questions that can help us place our kittens in the homes that are best for them. We do not keep waiting lists and kittens are not held without a deposit.
If you are looking to purchase a kitten for breeding, you must provide proof of an established, registered cattery. If you are a new breeder trying to get started, we recommend that you find a mentor near you that can help guide you through the process. Check out CFA’s NewBee program for help finding a member in your area. My busy schedule will not allow me to properly mentor at this time.
There are a lot of scammers out there that all too happy to take your money and leave you without a kitten and no way to get your money back. This can usually be avoided with a bit of research and common sense. Our cattery is CFA and TICA registered which can be verified by visiting their websites.
Once you have chosen a kitten and have been approved to purchase it, you will be sent a deposit contract with the kitten’s information and terms of sale. You will then submit a deposit through Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or Apple Pay. If you prefer to use a different payment method, it must be discussed with us prior to placing the deposit.
ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE! Why? Because when you place a deposit on one of our kittens, we hold THAT kitten just for you. If you change your mind later, we then have to place that kitten with another family and sometimes placing older kittens can be more difficult. We only refund deposits if the kitten becomes unavailable due to illness, injury, genetic disorder or death. We do not return deposits due to weddings, death in the family, unexpected expenses, job loss or other personal reasons. I know this sounds very harsh, but we have been breeding cats for many years and our time and effort is not free. Please be sure that you are able to follow through with your commitment if you decide to place a deposit. We understand that things happen that you have no control over, but all money collected goes right back into the cattery.
All kittens remain with us till at least 12 weeks of age. This allows them to develop important social skills, become completely litter trained, and receive important vaccinations.Twelve weeks sounds like an awful long time to wait to bring your kitten home, but it will go by faster than you think. Those first few weeks are critical for kitten development and we want to ensure that you get a healthy, well socialized kitten that will quickly adjust to their new home.
During the waiting period, we will send updates as often as we can and share some videos and photos. Keep in mind that I can not do this every day as I have a full time job plus a family and several pets to care for. When time permits, you may also see your kitten via live video chat.
Kittens may be picked up in person or delivered via air by a pet nanny service. We do not ship kittens via cargo. It is too stressful for young kittens and is just not an overall safe way to travel for them. We can also arrange to meet you at the Tampa airport. Check with your airline to ensure that your carrier meets the requirements for in cabin travel. You must bring a carrier for your new kitten even if you only have a short drive home. It is safer for you and your kitten. If you have a very long drive (greater than 5 hrs) we recommend a medium sized crate with a small litter box.
Kittens go home with a kitten kit that includes the following: TICA and CFA registration, one month of free Trupanion insurance, a bag of kitten food, a toy and certificate of veterinary inspection (provided by another veterinarian).
