Etlon is a family owned and managed in home cattery. Our cats are part of our family and are always under foot. We first fell in love with Maine Coons in the show halls while showing our Bengal cats. They are such beautiful cats and their magnetic personalities quickly drew us in. It wasn’t long before we decided to add one of these magnificent cats to our home.
Etlon started much like most other catteries. Our first Maine Coon was acquired as a pet from our very dear breeder friend Beth at JaspurrCats . Jasper (JaspurrCats Three Steps From Heaven) captured our hearts and we began showing him as a kitten. As he grew, so did our interest in adding this breed to our established cattery. Adding these cats to our busy household has been a wonderful adventure which we are eager to share with other families around the world.
In addition to being an experienced breeder, I am also a full time, licensed and practicing veterinarian. As you can imagine, our cats get the best care possible. My husband also helps with caring for and socializing our kitties when he’s not in his golf shop repairing or customizing golf clubs.
The comfort and care of our cats is our number one priority here at Etlon. We believe that in order to produce the healthiest and happiest kittens, you must start out with happy and healthy cats. We do our best to keep stress levels low and maintain a safe and clean environment. Our cattery meets USDA regulatory standards for catteries.
Our cats freely roam about our home. Caged cats do not get proper exercise, are more stressed and are more prone to illness.
We allow limited visiting to our cattery. One reason for this is that my husband and I both work outside the home which includes working weekends as well. Arranging time off for visits can be difficult, so we are happy to do video chats to show kittens.
Our cattery is a closed cattery. This means that we do not allow cats to come in or go out for breeding. If you are looking for stud services, we suggest that you look elsewhere or develop a relationship with a mentor that can help you make connections with breeders that provide this service. We strongly advise against studding out due to increased risks of spreading infectious diseases.
